a friend just informed me that the c/o in his hall will be instructing the elders that anyone with a child in college will be stripped of privileges in the hall.
i am not sure if this is true this is just what i was told.
it could be that it is only a campaign directed at him as he has some ties to ex-jw's and some how got found out.
This is utter lunacy!! I remember it was always frowned upon if someone "let" their kids go to school. They wouldn't have their "privledges" taken away but they were always looked down on. This doesn't make any sense. I mean the more money members make the more they can donate right?

ok this is for all of you who don't attend anymore.. i had a friend come over last night.
we've been best mates since we were kids, he was brought up in the ' truth ', but left a number of years ago.
we talk about just everything.
Yes I sometimes do think about it. But then I wake up from my nightmare and realize it isn't really happening, it was all just a bad dream.
It would give me an opportunity to really tell them what I think though!!!

It is quite common. Being that JW's live a very sheltered life, it is difficult for them to adjust to the "world". And a lot of people cannot handle being shunned by their family. It is tough!
When I left, I remember I didn't have one single friend b/c I would not associate with anyone who was "worldly" before I left the religeon. My first friend was a guy from work who I hung out with. His name was Costa, he was a great guy! I gradually made friends from there but it was a tough few years...all the friends I have now are true friends though b/c they like me for me, not b/c I belong to the same cult as them.
I remember when I was still in, the majority of young people that got disfellowshipped always came back. Even if it was just to lead a double life!

just about everyone i've known my whole life thinks somethings wrong with me because of my "abnormal thinking".
everyone is in agreement that there is something wrong with me.. i just keeping thinking i'm doing something wrong or i should be doing something different.
i don't feeling terrible about it or anything, just this nagging thing in me.
Yes, I am very familiar with that feeling. It does go away though, trust.
Sorry you are going through that, it is hard to deal with sometimes but it does get better!

(one of the few jws i actually considered a friend back in the day).
we were briefly catching up and she mentioned an elder in my old hall is now dfed.

I completely agree with your comments and I'm so glad you didn't stay in when you went back after 9/11. I would be lying if I said I didn't think about going back after that happened. Talk about for all the wrong reasons hey? Not b/c it's the truth, b/c your scared. Yeah, I guess that is how they rope them in!

all i did was step up my workout from an hour walk to running....i woke up i couldnt stand on my left knee/leg.
i postponed goin to have it checked out hoping it would go away.....started hopping around on one leg and finally got it checked out.
(canadian hospitals ..omg....unbelievalbe...checked in at 2300hrs, doctor looked at me at 10am.
Yes it was painful and not a whole lot of fun but that is behind me now...thankfully.
I found out during physio that one of the reasons this happened was b/c my legs muscles were too weak to hold the knee properly so my hips and knees were doing too much work and it was wearing them down. Of course I couldn't work out to strengthen my leg muscles b/c my knees were so bad so it was kind of a catch 22. I was taught a lot of stretches I have to do every day and it really works. I am on the road to recovery. I hope the same for you!

i mean i use public restrooms...even gas station restrooms on occassions and they never smelled like the assembly bathrooms.
i thought that they were suppose to be clean people????.
